David Harold Eubank (Springer of Region 6)


Springer (age 67) passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016


Born in Campbell County, VA, October 23, 1948. He was the son of the late LeRoy Leonard Eubank and Estelle Grogan Eubank. Springer was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served during Vietnam. He retired from Alliance Industrial Conveyer and was a a member of the Vietnam Veterans Association. He loved the outdoors and was a motorcycle enthusiast fondly known as Chopper Dave.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother L. Neal Eubank.


Survivors include two sons, David H. Eubank, Jr. and his wife Stefanie and Matthew L. Eubank and his fiance Lisa; one daughter, Amanda E. Cash and husband Scott; six grandchildren, Carter L. Eubank, Taylor Page Cash, Cameron S. Cash, Michael Eubank, Daniel Eubank, and Racheal F. Cash; his sister-in-law, Janice Phelps Eubank Minor and nieces and nephews Rhonda and Eddie Burgess and Larry and Anna Eubank.

Mr. Kevin W. "Chopper" Chamberlain (Region 5)


Kevin grew up in Lawrence, MA and joined the service at the age of 17. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in December of 1967 with a total of 3 years active service. During his military service he earned The National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and riding his Harley. Kevin will be remembered for his amazing ability to make people laugh and his humble and kind soul. Kevin’s life revolved around making people smile. His warmth will live on in the hearts of his family and friends for all eternity.


Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Susan Chamberlain, his daughter Alicia Wright and her husband, Patrick Wright of Chester, NH, his mother, Helen West of Andover, MA, his brother, Joe Chamberlain and his wife Marci Chamberlain of Andover, MA, his 2 sisters, Kimberly West Heidt and her husband, Robert Heidt and Judy Lynch and her husband, Jim Lynch, many nieces and nephews, in-laws and many, many friends.


Kevin was predeceased by his stepfather Charlie, his beloved brother, Michael “Mickey” Chamberlain and his mother in- law, Donna Robinson whom he adored.


His Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Friday, April 7, 2017, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Mr. Richard "Butch/Papaw" Hargis, PGR, Veteran (Region 3)


Richard was born on April 4, 1938 in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away on June 30, 2017.
He served in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his son and is survived by his wife of 24 years (Anniversary today July 10) and one daughter - 1 step son, 2 step daughters and 15 grandchildren.


Mr. Mark "Weather Doctor" Galloway, Veteran (Region 3)


Shreveport - Mark Warren Galloway, age 69, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport, LA.


He was born September 7, 1949 in Tulsa Oklahoma to Doris and T. Z. Galloway. He is preceded in death by Father, T. Z. Galloway and sister Linda Matthaei.


Mark is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sherry Williams Galloway, son, Shawn Galloway of Shreveport, LA and daughter Amanda Geltemeyer, husband Glenn Geltemeyer and grandchildren Drew and Allison of Coppell, TX, Mother Doris Galloway of Shreveport, LA and sister Janet Galloway and husband Ron Galloway of Hot Springs, AR. Sister-in-law Michel Williams Garvie, husband Herbert Garvie and niece Haley Garvie of Elgin, TX, Father-in-law George Williams of Bartlett, TX and many nieces and nephews in TX, WA and AR.


Mark is a 1967 graduate from Woodlawn High School. He attended LSUS and served in the US Air Force from 1968 to 1975 when he was Honorably Discharged. Mark retired from Overton Brooks VA Medical Center - Shreveport in 2008 after 37 years, as an air conditioning and refrigeration mechanic.


Over the years, there were many hobbies, interests and activities which included water skiing, bass fishing and creating pen and ink wildlife drawings. He loved the New Orleans Saints and enjoyed a good-natured rivalry with his Cowboy loving grandson Drew.


Mark aka Weatherdoctor had a lifelong love of motorcycles. He was a retired member of the Veterans of Vietnam motorcycle club. He served as the Region III Representative. Mark participated in and helped organize many fundraising events for veterans during his time with the club. He was instrumental in starting the Vet4Vets motorcycle rally held every year to buy unfunded items for the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center.


Mark was a member of Saint Stephen Lutheran Church, Shreveport where he met his wife Sherry over 50 years ago.

Mr. Virgil (Skeeter) Eugene Stovall, Veteran (Region 1)


Virgil Eugene Stovall, 69, of Battle Mountain, Nevada passed away Monday evening, June 10, 2019 at his home in Battle Mountain. He was born in Stamford, Texas on August 30, 1949.


Virgil joined the United States Army as a young age where he proudly served his country during the Korean War. Later in life he went into the mining industry where he began his career as an underground miner ending with over 40 years of experience. In Virgil's free time his hobbies were fishing, hunting and riding his motorcycles.


Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Sally Stovall along with his brother, Mikey Stovall. He is survived by his loving wife, Vilia Stovall of 41 years of marriage, two children, Stacey (Brad) Holley and Jerry Stovall, his brother, David Stovall, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.


Mr. James (Snake) Carlton Preston, Veteran (Region 4)


Mr. Preston was born on January 22, 1943 in Jefferson County, Alabama. He served his country with honor and retired from the United States Army in 1990 after a distinguished career of over 30 years. He served as a helicopter and fixed wing pilot through two tours of Vietnam, Iran, Germany, and several posts throughout the country. His awards, medals, and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with 1 Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, the Air Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Silver Service Star and 1 Bronze Service Star, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, the Army Service Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Master Army Aviator Badge, and the Legion of Merit.


After retiring from the military, Jim lived over 25 years in Calhoun County where he enjoyed officiating softball, riding motorcycles, and camping before pursuing his dream of RV life at the Bella Terra RV Resort in Foley, Alabama.


Mr. Preston is preceded in death by his mother, Edna Patton Smith, and his father, James Woods Preston. He is survived by Donna Lee Preston, his childhood sweetheart and wife of 56 years. He is also survived by his two sons, James and his wife, Becky, and Perry and his wife, Sarah; his beloved grandchildren, Kayla, and her husband Brenden Donahue, William, and his partner, Kailey Russell, Ryan, and his wife, Allison, Jaime, and her fiancé, Denson Dean, and great grandsons, James and Duke, and soon to be arriving, Theo.


Mr. Kenneth “Ken” McLeish (Mad Dog Region 2), 66, of Westminster, Colorado passed away on March 3, 2020 at the Denver Hospice Inpatient Care Center in Denver. Born on September 24, 1953 in Salzburg, Austria to Robert and Betty Jo (Armstrong) McLeish.


He enlisted in the Marine Corp at the age of 17 and went to Vietnam on the USS Tripoli. He was injured and discharged for medical reasons under honorable conditions. Ken met his wife Kathy in 1987 in Texas and they were married on April 1, 1989. Ken started long haul trucking and moved to Colorado to continue trucking until medically retiring in 2012. He also ran his own gun business for over 30 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, and fishing. He was a member of the American Legion, NRA benefactor member, and VOVMC: Veterans of Vietnam motorcycle club and became president of the club. After his service he was a welder on an oil platform, merchant marines for 1 year to South America, ILC Space Systems – as a quality control engineer at NASA for 3 years until the shuttle exploded. Then attended law enforcement academy at Glynco, Georgia, and then worked for the department of justice BOP division.


He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kathy (Jensen) McLeish, son, Jerod (Texanne) of Texas, step- daughter, Jennifer Schiffer of Texas, grandsons, Aaron and Andrew McLeish, granddaughters, Aubrey McLeish and Raya Harris, his mother, Betty Jo McLeish of Tennessee, sisters, Robin (Bruce) Roeschlein of North Carolina and Cindy Hall of Texas, half-brother, Bob (Linda) McLeish of California, brother-in-law, Rodney (Linda) Jensen of Iowa, long term friend and brother, Chris Tunnell of Arizona, and also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert McLeish, father-in-law, Roger Jensen, grandparents, John and Evalene McLeish, Edd and Savannah Armstrong, and his brother-in-law, Chris Hall.


Interment with military honors will take place in the Summer at Angel Fire Cemetery in New Mexico.


Mr. Clyde Bruce French (Shy Pilot Region 3), 74, of Shreveport, Louisiana. Clyde was born May 6, 1946 in Monroe, Louisiana and went home to our Lord on Wednesday, October 28,2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana.


Clyde was a decorated Vietnam War Veteran and Chief Warrant Officer 2. He served as a United States Army Combat Helicopter Pilot with A Company, 227th Aviation Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division in Vietnam. He was shot down three times and was the recipient of military honors on four separate occasions for heroism in combat, including two Distinguished Flying Cross medals. Clyde also spent three years as an instructor pilot with the Mississippi Air National Guard.


Clyde is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 35 years, Judy Baten French; children, Chris French and wife, Leslie and Curry French; brothers, Jeff French and Dr. Terry French and wife, Susie; three grandchildren, Conner French, Jack French and Sterling French and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.


A Celebration of Life for Clyde Bruce French will be held on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery with full military honors in Keithville, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Pastor Justin Haigler.


Terry L. McEvers (DeRailer of Region 7), 74 of Herrin, passed away 2:55 a.m. Sunday at the V.A. Medical Center in Marion.


Terry was a former over the road truck driver and was the Superintendent of Public Works for the City of Herrin for 11 years.


Terry was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a member of the Herrin American Legion Post $ 645, Baker-Ladd V. F. W. Post # 1567 in Herrin and a life-time member of the Herrin Elk’s Lodge # 1146.


Terry was born June 30, 1946 in Herrin, Illinois to Charles Morris and Lillie Earlene (Coleman) McEvers.


Terry was united in marriage with Cheryl S. Anderson on December 20, 1969 at the First United Methodist Church in Herrin. She preceded him in death on December 9, 2016.

William Joseph Simpson Jr (Crash of Region7}., 71, of Swansea, IL, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021


William was born March 3, 1950 to William Joseph and Marie Bryden (Roberts) Simpson. He married Jin Shia Jiang on April 22, 1974. She survives and resides in Swansea, IL.


William was a life member of the Masonic Lodge and more recently with the O’Fallon Masonic Lodge. He was also involved with the Shriners for many years. William was a professional hobbyist, always enjoying a new activity and finding new interests. He was a LVAD heart ambassador, paving the way for others through advancements in medical technology. William proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a retired veteran after 24 years of service and a true Patriot to his country. He also worked and retired from the United States Postal Service. Above all else, William was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed and never forgotten.


William Kelly Owens (HOLLYWOOD of Region7}, son of Charles and Ruby Owens, was born on July 02, 1946, and departed this life November 28, 2021.


Bill grew up in Sesser, IL and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1963. He trained at the MCRD in San Diego, CA and was then stationed at Camp Pendleton, Oceanside ,CA. Bill served three tours of duty in Vietnam with the 1st Battalion 1st Marines 1965-1966 and was wounded three times receiving the Purple Heart.


Bill’s second tour was 1968-1969 and his final tour stationed him at the US Embassy in Saigon where he was the personal bodyguard to the US Ambassador, Ellsworth Bunker. Bill was awarded the Medal of Accommodation which is presented for sustained acts of heroism and meritorious service. His classification was Military Intelligence Chief. Richard Nixon gave Bill a gold Marine Corp ring for providing impeccable security while at Nixon’s west coast home in San Clemente, CA and during meetings in Saigon. Bill was very proud of having President Nixon recognize him simply as “Owens”.


Bill lived many of his years at his High Desert California ranch home which overlooked Edwards Air Force Base, located in the Antelope Valley. From his home, He had a front row seat for many of the Space Shuttle landings at Edwards. AFB. In his private life he truly enjoyed a good fishing trip to the Pacific, Colorado River, Lake Castaic, or a secluded farm pond tucked away in the countryside. He was an avid coin collector. He was also very passionate about riding his motorcycles which allowed him to tour the country extensively including many trips with fellow Viet Nam Veterans. In his younger days he, alongside wife Ruth Ann, he even toured Hawaii on a motorcycle. He loved the camaraderie with his brother veterans, was always quick to pull a prank or tell a joke, and always was available to provide support.


Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2021, at the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery of Benton, with Rev. Alan Minton officiating. Per Bill's request, Military honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corps. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Dwayne was born on April 5, 1949, in Gorman, Texas to the late Gerald Gaylord and Virginia Elaine Lewis Battenfield. He married Sharon Malbrough on March 15, 1975, in Houma, Louisiana. Dwayne served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps, and was honorably discharge after six years of service as a Staff Sergeant. He served several years as a Seminary Pastor with the Southern Baptist Churches while living in Louisiana and Missoula, Montana. He and Sharon moved to Texas in 1997 residing in Eastland and Erath Counties. Dwayne was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church in Stephenville, and he operated Battenfield Broken Arrow Breeding, raising Appaloosa horses.


John C Ginther (Hippy John Region 2)

Peter F. (Irish Iron) Toner passed away August 16, 2023, at his home, in South Acworth, NH.


Peter was born on June 13, 1941, in Hartford, CT, to Joseph and Margaret (Cleary) Toner. Peter attended schools in Simsbury, CT and graduated high school in Hartford, CT. Peter finished his Ironworker apprenticeship in December of 1970 and was a lifetime member of the Ironworkers Local 15 of Hartford, CT. He served a six year term in the Army National Guard of CT during the Vietnam era, 1963-1969.


Peter was a member of the Tri-Town Trailblazers Snowmobile Club, the Veterans of Vietnam Motorcycle Club, Rolling Thunder NH Chapter 2, VT and NH Patriot Guard Riders, Instructor for the NH Fish and Game for the OHRV Safety Education Program. Peter was a lifetime member of the American Legion, VFW, and Irish-American Club in Glastonbury, CT. Peter participated in many fundraising events/rides for Veterans, and with his white hair, long beard, and retirement waistline, he loved to play Santa for various groups including Make-A-Wish, Veterans, and families in need.


Peter loved hunting and fishing, but more than anything, riding his Honda trike wherever the days took him. He rode every day he could and it wasn’t unusual for him to pull up behind a plow as they were clearing the snow off the roads. Peter also made the Rolling Thunder Ride to the Wall in Washington, D.C. many times, the last time in 2019 with brothers from the Marine Riders. At 77, Peter rode solo from his home in NH, crossed into Canada and then down into Minnesota for a surprise family reunion, with his brother, Donald. At 80, he was still splitting his own firewood and helping friends with theirs.


Peter is survived by his wife, Karen, his brother, Donald (Diane) of Maple Grove, MN, his children, Peter Jr. (Jen), of Springfield, NJ, Kim Crockwell of Wethersfield, CT, Joseph (Mary) of CT, and Tim (Angela) of Wethersfield, CT. He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and an entire league of friends, riders and his ‘adopted’ son, Tony (Sherrie) Fontaine of Boscawen, NH. Peter was pre-deceased by his parents and an older brother, Joseph of Plainville, CT.


Richard A. Rocheleau (Roche Region 5)

Richard A. Rocheleau, 77, of Pocasset, MA, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 6, 2023.


He was born in Woonsocket, RI on June 16, 1946, to Gertrude (Mathieu) and Fernand Rocheleau. Richard first enlisted in the Air Force at age 16. He worked at Otis Air Force Base in the 102nd Fighter Wing, proudly serving in the Air Force for 40 years and concurrently in the Air National Guard for 33. An Aircraft Mechanic and, ultimately, a Master Sergeant, he was a veteran of the Vietnam War (Phú Cát, 1967 and 1968). Following the 9/11 attacks, he spent the final five years of his military service on active duty. In recognition of the latter, Richard was honored with The Meritorious Service Award.


Richard enjoyed many things. As a Small Arms Expert Marksman, he competed in local and national competitions. After retirement, he became an avid Harley Davidson rider and active member of the Veterans of Vietnam Motorcycle Club. He loved being around his sons, and they knew it. He often coached their teams and he’d always be there to watch or participate, no matter the occasion. Later, he religiously attended all his grandkids’ sporting events, both in Sandwich, MA and Richmond, VA. He was so proud of his family, and he will be dearly missed.


Richard is survived by: his children Shane Rocheleau of Richmond, VA and Travis Rocheleau of Forestdale, MA; his grandchildren, Mardi and Ian of Richmond and Collin and Luke of Forestdale; his daughters-in-law, Joanne Mooney of Richmond and Abby Rocheleau of Forestdale; his sister, Ruth Rocheleau of Plymouth, MA; mother of his sons, ex-wife, and lifelong friend, Jeanne Rocheleau (Hebert); his dear friends, Elise Morley and Pamela Clark; countless 1st and 2nd cousins and countless more friends.


Claron Wayne Jones (CW Region 4)

Claron Wayne Jones known as “CW” Jones age 74 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Wednesday November 1, 2023 in the VA Mountain Home Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee.


CW was born on September 22, 1949 in Galax, Virginia to Curtis Elmo and Nora Imogene Hill Jones.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Curtis Jones and Jimmy Jones.


He is survived by three children and spouses Chris and Michelle Durham of Johnson City, Tennessee; Juliana and Tim Stone of Woodlawn, Virginia; Casey and Holly Durham of Johnson City, Tennessee; siblings and spouses Tim and Patty Jones of Woodlawn, Virginia; Mary and Joe Sauer of Charlotte, North Carolina; Molly Hill of Woodlawn, Virginia; Shelby Leonard of Galax, Virgina; Nora and Bob Cole of Independence, Virginia; eight grandchildren one great-grandchild; several nephews; special friends Bruce Finn; Big Mike & Casey; Cecil Hawks; ; Michael Hawks and Jerry Hawks; special dog Cujo.


Gary R. Slogar (Slo-Man Region 4)

Gary was born in St. Louis Missouri and raised in Bernadette, Missouri. After graduating high school Gary enlisted in the United States Army where he would serve until his retirement. Gary enjoyed riding motorcycles with fellow veterans, along with boating and fishing.


Gary is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Inez Slogar and his wife Faye Slogar.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Curtis Jones and Jimmy Jones.


A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor James Adams officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Truman Ferguson officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:45 PM.
